We don't merely mean remedies when we talk about healing. For us in the Six Nations, healing is more than just getting better. It's how we live, how we take care of one other, and how we keep connected to the land. These things don't stand alone; they work together.
The Six Nations of the Grand River. The Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora nations make up a community have resided here for many years.
Land-based healing
The land gives us more than food. It also offers healing. For generations, we’ve turned to what grows around us to support our well-being. These natural healings help clear the mind, strengthen the body, and ground the spirit. They’re not just resources—they’re part of our relationship with the earth and deserve care and respect.

Community is better than being alone
We believe that you can't recover by yourself. Healing is something we all do together. It happens in storytelling, ceremonies, laughing, and even quiet. We help one other out, especially when things are tough. That's what it means to be part of a community.
The healing of the 6 nations
People who aren't part of our group are starting to understand that health isn't only about being fit. That's something we've always known. It's important to find a balance between the body, the spirit, the land, and each other. If one portion isn't right, the rest will feel it.
Healing isn't a fad is a way of life that has helped us get through everything. We look at the full individual. We pay attention. We take our time. And we always remember who we are.
